Emaar Development Profits Skyrocket 43% to $1.1 Billion Amid Group-Wide Success

Emaar Development, the property development arm of Dubai's master-developer Emaar Properties, has announced a spectacular 43% surge in net profit for the first half of 2024, reaching a formidable Dhs4.1 billion ($1.1 billion). This remarkable performance is fueled by relentless property sales and underscores the robust health of Dubai's real estate market.

This profit explosion is a key part of the success story for the entire Emaar Group, which reported strong revenue and a massive sales backlog, signaling a future pipeline of guaranteed growth. According to Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar, these results reflect the company's dedication to operational excellence and its unwavering focus on creating long-term value for its stakeholders.

The developer recorded impressive property sales of Dhs20.8 billion ($5.7 billion) in H1 2024, a 10% increase year-on-year. This has swelled its sales backlog to an unprecedented Dhs71.8 billion ($19.5 billion), a massive pipeline of future revenue that will be recognized over the next few years, ensuring sustained financial strength.

The parent company, Emaar Properties, also demonstrated its diversified strength, with total revenue hitting Dhs13.7 billion ($3.7 billion). Critically, a significant portion of this revenue Dhs5.2 billion ($1.4 billion) came from its recurring revenue businesses, such as its world-class malls and hospitality portfolio.
